CAJAL Advanced Neuroscience Training Programme Special Interest Event @ FRM 2021

The CAJAL Advanced Neuroscience Training Programme aims to teach basic and fundamental neuroscience concepts as well as state-of-the-art techniques, data analysis and computer skills to train the next generation of top-notch neuroscientists.
During this event held at the virtual FENS Regional Meeting 2021, Prof Eero Castrén (Cajal President) and Dr Elena Dreosti (Cajal Executive Director) will present the training course programme that CAJAL offers and provide an overview of how students can benefit from attending CAJAL courses online and in person. This will be followed by presentations by course and venue directors and alumni who will share their CAJAL course experience. A Q&A will conclude the session.

Prof Eero Castrén
Cajal President
Eero Castrén is Professor at the Neuroscience Center of the University of Helsinki (Finland) and the Cajal President (2021-2023).
Dr Elena Dreosti
Cajal Executive Director
Elena Dreosti is a researcher at the Wolfson Institute for Biomedical Research,
UCL (UK) and the Cajal Executive Director (head of the Cajal Central Administration).
Prof Christophe Mulle
Director of the Bordeaux School of Neuroscience
Christophe Mulle is a research director at the CNRS and University of Bordeaux (France), where he leads the Synaptic Circuits of Memory team. He is also the Director of the Cajal Venue in Bordeaux.
Prof Michael Hausser
Interacting with Neural Circuits Course Director
Michael Hausser is a researcher at the Wolfson Institute for Biomedical Research,
UCL (UK). He is a director of the Interacting with Neural Circuits course held in 2017, 2019 and 2022 at the Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown.
Dr Alexandra Leighton
Extracellular Electrophysiology Acquisition NeuroKit Director
Alexandra Leighton is a science consultant at the Open Ephys Production Site (Portugal).
She is a director of the Extracellular Electrophysiology Acquisition NeuroKit course held online for the first time in March 2021.
Ayse Malci
Advanced Techniques for Synapse Biology Course Participant 2019
Ayse Malci is a PhD student at the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology Magdeburg (Germany). She attended the Advanced Techniques for Synapse Biology course held in 2019 at the Bordeaux School of Neuroscience.
Veronica de la Fuente
Visual Reactive Programming - Bonsai Course Participant 2021
Veronica de la Fuente is a PhD student at the Instituto de Fisiología, Biología Molecular y Neurociencias (IFIBYNE-UBA-CONICET, Argentina). She attended the Visual Reactive Programming – Bonsai Neurokit course held in 2021.
This event is part of the FENS Regional Meeting 2021 – held virtually on 25-27 August 2021.
